Have you heard of Vitalab? I have never seen this brand until I went Taiwan. Apparently it is quite a famous skincare brand in Taiwan and was featured in magazines and 女人我最大. The sales girl was surprised that I didn’t know because there’s a counter selling in one of the Singapore shopping malls which she cannot remember which one is it. Ok, cut the long background story short.
As the name of the product suggest, it is to exfoliate impurities on the surface of the skin, smooth and help to remove dead skins. I always have concerns about the micro-beads found in most of the exfoliating beauty products. If your skin is delicate, try to avoid using exfoliating products that contain micro-beads too frequently. Once in a week is necessary but not more than that. Rolling too much micro-beads may just hurt our skin even more. That’s a tip I learn from my esthetician.
But this product is works pretty fine for me though it does contain the usual micro beads but it is not as “rough” as it is like the rest.
So how it works is, squeeze about 2 pearl-drop amount and start massaging your face with it. Note that this works on towel-dried face. It doesn’t work on wet face. So for the first time, you will see that a lot of impurities or dirt are “rub off” from the skin. Here’s a short video demo which I did. This is the hand after I wake up. So not much dirt to begin with comparing to one that was out for the whole day.
As you can see, as you start to massage, the impurities will be rubbed away. Not much strength needed. Subsequently, I took another video which I did right after the first round. Notice the impurities actually reduce.
I find this product quite mild compared to the normal micro-beads gel. The sales girl recommended me to use everyday which I thought it was a gimmick to use up the product quickly. But you can use it like two to three times a week. I have used it for about 3 weeks ever since I returned from Taiwan. My skin problem is always on the internal acne side rather than the surface issue.
Therefore, although it didn’t really treat my problem, but I felt that my clogged pores are lesser. I can totally feel it. The sales girl even told me that by using this product, you don’t have to go for facial so often. In fact, going to facial can make your pores enlarge as they squeezed too much.
Well, I kind of agree. I find that my skin condition is better since there are lesser clogs. So it definitely discourage me from having thoughts to facial. So much of product information, let’s look at the content of the box:
Some people might ask if it is so good, why am I selling away right? Can keep for my own use. Ya, I do have the intention to keep for my own. I brought 4 tubes in total, and I am using one tube. So I only have intention to let go 2 tubes. Reasons to sell this are, 1) To find out if there’s a market for this product. 2) I have a lot of facial products which I’m afraid that I cannot finish.
Since I have the sales girl LINE contact, I can actually order from her if I need to. I pretty much understand as a buyer, you will definitely compare and research. So as part of a considerate seller and to help you in your decision making, I have put my research with regards to review and pricing on this product.
1) Official website in Mandarin Taiwan (http://biotech-lab.com/front/bin/home.phtml)
2) Official online store in Mandarin Taiwan (https://tw.mall.yahoo.com/store/biotech-lab)
3) Review by a Malaysian blogger (https://rosalindwong.wordpress.com/2015/04/16/vitalab-clarifying-cleansing-exfoliating-gel/)
4) Seller on carousell pricing @ $30 and I wonder how much she bought (https://carousell.com/p/13408565/). Take note of the expiry date too.
5) Seller on carousell pricing @ $50 (https://carousell.com/p/9189551/)
At Taiwan authorized beauty counters and online store, they are selling it at NT 1800 (approx SGD 78). I am not sure how much is Singapore selling (if anyone knows, do let me know so I can update here). Interested parties can get this from me at SGD 55 (inclusive of local normal postage). For other neighbourhood countries, I am sure you will understand that I cannot include overseas postage in it. 🙂
Like I say, I am not looking into profiting from these two tubes but that doesn’t mean I don’t care how much I bought. Even if is testing market, I also need to cover up my cost. So if there’s no taker till I finished my 2nd tube, I may just open up and use it myself. Haha. So if anyone is interested or has any questions, do leave a comment below and fill up the email field so that I can contact you, alright?
